Lagrein Wines

A red wine grape variety which pairs excellently with cheese, Lagrein is grown mainly in the Alto Adige region of Northern Italy. Generally, Lagrein wines have a dark colouring and full flavour, although they are light and often fruity. One of the most popular Lagrein wines is Lagrein Scuro, a tannic and earthy red wine which gives a soft, velvety taste. While many Lagrein wines are full-bodied, it is rare that they are heavy on the palate.
